I heard someone mention peeling up the cloth on the bearing and slicing the wood at the hole to make a steeper angle--making it more triangular on one side than rounded. Then reattach the cloth.

Haven't done it myself.

I can’t think of one. The bearing focusing the fulcrum at the apex of the bearing so shimming the one side of the balance rail doesn’t seem like it will work.

David,

On "regular" accelerated actions with the bearings, is there any way to apply the veneer strip to change the key ratio?

Thanks,

Interesting isn’t it, it’s an “accelerated action” (or so it’s stamped on the action frame) without the bearings. No I didn’t remove them. Key lead positions are consistent with the accelerated actions.
