Didn't you say you'd been in the business over 20 years? And????

I'd tell them that if I can't meet their standards, they're welcome to
look elsewhere. And if they have absolute pitch, why the hell do they
even bother with an electronic tuner for verification - unless they
don't? And if neither their electronic tuner, nor their absolute pitch
can provide any better detail, why am I required to indulge it? Doesn't
compute. When I get the call starting with "You'll probably think I'm
crazy, but...", I'm all ears, and ready to schedule a service call
because they are nearly never without grounds for concern, but just
don't understand what's really happening. When the call starts with "I
have perfect pitch", it's nearly always absolute nonsense, and almost
never justifies time spent.. I have to attend either way, but the
intuitive gifted amateur expert is universally a monumental pain in the ass.
