It is my plan to have some with me so that when I encounter a bench with
winged nuts I can replace them. I can't seem to get the winged ones tight
enough by hand.

Hi Brian,

They are called hanger screws. I checked two benches in my shop and both
are different one was 1/4" and the other 3/8" so they can

vary. It is best to bring a wing nut to the hardware store and get the right
size hanger screw.

What is the standard size square bolt needed to replace the wing nuts used
inside the benches to secure the legs?
