Does anyone have or know where I can get three 5/16" x 20tpi Nose bolt cap nuts? The originals were lost and so far I've struck out at supply houses. Any help would be appreciated. William R. Monroe William, I just checked the bolt depot. And the closest they list is 5/16th -18tpi. I wonder if you could tap 20tpi into one of these. When Joe Garrett gets up (west coast ) he will tell me if I'm nuts for suggesting this. I just checked their metric to US conversion table and 8 MM has 5/16ths as it's closest equivalent but I'm not sure about the TPI issue. Maybe this chart below can help along with the bolt depot links . A- 1.25 B- 1.41 C- .79375 A metric pitch is the distance in mm between successive crests, not the number of threads per unit length as in the old imperial system. A. Divide 1.25 mm by 25.4 mm/inch to get 0.049212598 inches per thread, and invert that to get 20.32 threads per inch. B. Divide 1.41 mm by 25.4 mm/inch to get 0.055511811 inches per thread, and invert that to get 18.01 threads per inch. C.
