I have never refused to raise pitch on a piano due to it's age. Perhaps due
to it's condition or other factors but never only due to it's age.

I am currently rebuilding an Ivers & Pond a few years older than the one you
wrote about, 1909. They were great pianos! Built in the tradition of all of
the fine Boston piano makers. The one I'm doing has a Wessel, Nickel & Gross
action and after rescaling is working out great.
Please don't make the mistake of assuming because it's an old piano it's not
a good one!
