Ah ! :) But this is the real interesting bit, at least from my
perspective. So much of our <<preferences>> are based on what we are
used too, or what we think we know, or what we've heard from others we
see as some kind of authority on a subject matter. And to be sure...
its valuable to sift through all those opinions and get a feeling for
where other folks experiences have led them. On the other hand, its
also fun to try and see just what folks are capable of when really put
to some kind of objective test. Like the temperament test of a few years
back. Course then you got to try and figure out the reason for the
results... and that can get complicated... but its fascinating if you
ask me.

btw.. I have one of Alexander Galembos articles in PDF form if anyone
wants it.

Cheers

Aw, Ric, I wasn't quizzing him and I'm reasonably sure it wasn't a blind
test. The subject came up one time when I was doing a survey on what
hammers to use in a certain, big hall. That was his response when I made
the comment that I'd rather not have to do the lacquering thing since the
piano was 40 miles away. Just trying to draw on other people's experiences.
