    Jerry,
    The grey market yamaha U1 -2-3"s have the butt plate actions --Identical
to the non greys .
    I developed (along with guidance from my fellow listees ) my butt cord
procedure on these.

    P.S. They also have a document pouch on the left inside near the #1
tuning pin, but the Yamaha list is the most reliable for i.d.
