FWIW: Piano technician workday human interest moment...............

I can't accurately convey the satisfying feeling I get jointing the =
edges of panel flitches and then edge-gluing up a soundboard panel. I =
know a number on this list do this routinely, and perhaps the thrill =
will fade after my hundredth panel, but at least for now it is a true =
joy (and actually, I suspect it will remain so)!

Below is a picture of two panels for redesigned Steinway B bellies that =
I'm building for a client. Yesterday I did all the edge jointing (all =
done with hand planes for the smoothest, perfect-matching edges) and =
glued up the subpanels. Today I have been gluing the subpanels together =
to make the completed panels.

Completed panel in top half of picture, the second panel is in my panel =
clamps lying flat on the table.
