I put about 400 dollars into a McCall mini belt sander including a special bi directional Foredom motor and flexible shaft. Also have the speed control. In order for the belt to track the pulleys need to be crowned and these were not. I never did use it. Couldn't get the belt to track in both directions. I considered modifying the pulleys but instead developed the turkey slicer model. Yes, it will sand hammers w/o removing anything but the action. Happy to take 250 dollars for all.
