You're right, I was describing a 2:1 transfer of A440 from the 1st 
partial of A4 to the 2d partial of A3. A temperament octave of 2:1 
whereas the octave under discussion was a 4:2.

BTW, I've tried an acoustically based P12 temperament a few times 
now, and still prefer a 6:3 for my temperament octave.
