Well said, Dean. No argument from me!! As another tech used to phrase it,
"Good work generates more work". That works not only for the individual but
for the entire profession as well. I try to spend a few minutes each visit
to promoting the enjoyment of the piano by the customer. Music is for
everyone; not just the few "talented" people. I once heard LaRoy Edwards of
Yamaha, at the conclusion of an otherwise very straightforward and
mechanical tech class launch into an impassioned appeal to our
musical/aesthetic sensibilities and priorities.

You're right, Dean. We owe it not only to ourselves and our businesses to
communicate the piano's requirements to our customers; we owe it to music.
