Cleaning Glue Pots

Joe,

I have been using hide glue (we call it a different name here) since 1963,
when I started my apprenticeship. The pot I have is made of aluminium. When
I need to clean it out, I boil it in another tin over gas and then just wash
it under clean water. This normally is done at end of a days work, and then
put the pearl glue in the pot with cold water for it to melt over night with
no heat. The pearl glue usually lasts 3 - 4 days, however I always use a
fresh pot when I an recovering player or organ bellows.

Regards
