Remember the time when half the population of Europe were driving around in Beetles, under the illusion that it was the best car in the world. It was probably the most lethal car in the world, besides being slow, thirsty, noisy and by no means not the cheapest to purchase. It's a case, perhaps, of keeping up with the Jones's next door; If they have a Steinway, then we must have one as well! Does not mean to say that it is the wisest choice though. The brand name has a lot to do with it as well; because the name is familiar, people feel comfortable with their choice; if Joe Bloggs down the road has a Steinway then it must be okay. Such is life.
