I had a friend who's music academy purchased a Seiler 8'1" Concert Grand.....initially during the first year or two it was muffled to the point of frustration and there was no openness in it's tone, then after a year or two it got horribly bright (as bad as a heavily played Yamaha C7) from all the frustrated poundings from most pianist friends i know who have played that piano (of most complained about the same thing) they have a very heavy touch, tiring to play (the Abels on the thing are of mammoth proportions) All this in spite of 4 technicians efforts to fix the piano up.....so IMHO either the lot of us are really incompetent or the piano's just like that.......

Do these Seilers require alot of preparation as well? A 7 foot Seiler I once performed on was very nice compared to the 8 footer.

They ended up switching to a Schimmel 256 a few months ago...it started out quite bright but after doing the necessary voicing after delivery.....it was pure heaven :)

Greg,Try the Seiler 8'1". Actually they are all quite nice.
