1. Jack flange bushing too tight
2. Jack spring is broken, not tensioned enough, or not in the jack hole
3. Capstan screws turned too high (you need lost motion)
4. Butt spring tensioned too much (The hammer butt should return with help 
from the spring, but it should have a "floating feeling.")
5. Bridle wire set to far back (should loose slack when the hammer is half 
way to the strings).
