Sorry folks, I guess that was a bit harsh. After all, it is American companies ( not Asian ) which have, in their generosity, shipped jobs overseas to where they are needed most! And by making screws lighter they have cut down on fuel use for shipping, hence global warming!!! So perhaps Dubya's right, and we SHOULD just let American industries regulate themselves, as they so obviously have our very best interests at heart! Glad to have "seen the light"! Thump P.S. I also have no gripe with Kawaii. I have always liked Kawaii, both as a piano and an organization. It is the cheaper Yamahamamotos which turn to cigar boxes and rubber bands in a few short years, and I have always resented that company for "allowing" buyers to think that they were getting a top of the line, higher grade instrument, when they were not! ( In my opinion. Perhaps this practice is no longer practised?) But this attitude was confirmed recently when I was surprised to learn that Disclavier systems come in several "grades"! When I asked our local Yamaharley representative whether the buyer is informed as to which grade they are getting, he said ( with great concern in his voice ) "No, that would only confuse them!" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I rest my case. --- gordon stelter <lclgcnp@yahoo.com> wrote: > > > days WEIGH aboiut 1/2 as much as their > traditional > > > counterparts, and I guess that's why they are > > usually > > > Phillips: to prevent you from being able to > torque > > it > > > to the breaking point! > > > Rant! > > > Thump > > > > > > > Well, there's a nice article on wood screws in the > > current Fine Woodworking > > magazine.
