Loose weight, loose flange screw, loose flange pin? In that area (G#4) it
is possible for the dowel pin from the trapwork to be extended enough that
it goes through the damper tray and hit the bottom of the underlever. Hit
or miss?

teacher. Complaint: G#4 makes clicking/clunking noise - perhaps more noise
on release of key, but some on blow. You won't hear it on a soft blow, but
medium and harder will do it.

in action. Find G#4 damper. Flick up from action cavity - "clickity-clunk".
Put finger on underlever and one on damper head, push lift mechanism and
return - "clunk". Replace damper head with quiet neighbor - "clunk".

be thanking Roger Jolly for an excellent tip he posted a while back - but
that was not it either!
