David, On 9/11/01 I was tuning my first piano of the day and somewhat miffed at the lady because she had scheduled me to do two pianos (one was in a property next-door), but when I arrived she said to do only one. I was maybe halfway through when she came into the room and told me what was happening. I watched her TV for 5-10 minutes, then finished my piano and went home to watch TV, since I had an open appointment. I saw both towers fall. Like you, I kept the rest of the appointments, although I got to the last one just in time because it was at a school and they were closing early, unsure whether schools might be targets. I felt that as tragic as the event was (is), life must go on, the pianos still needed service, and I still had bills to pay. But yesterday (9/11/02) I stayed home.
