This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Both Richard and I agree. Since I was the one to initiate this thread, I = should probably be the one to end it, on my part anyway. Nice posting, = Ron. My respect for you grows daily, and it started out high in the = beginning.=20 I have to admit, that part of my original posting was due to = frustration about now being allowed to do my job at the level at which I = am capable. I truly love to make the pianos I work on sound great for = these performances, and will pour myself into the task of getting them = that way. But upon serious introspection, I think my own self respect = caused my to react in the only way it could; with outrage that I held = inside, out of the common decency that I try to show to everyone. (Most = of the time, don't start with me..............) I spent years learning this art. Mind you, I didn't say "trade", I = said ART. And an art it is, it may be part science, part technical, = part feeling, but in order to put it all together requires more than = just technical skill.=20 I think my problem was that these "elites" that put these things = together treat us as no better than they would a busboy, and maybe they = think that bringing a piano to fruition is nothing more than wiping = fingerprints off a glass.=20 Ron's got it exactly right. Charge them for every minute.=20 ----- Original Message -----=20 From: Richard Brekne=20 To: Pianotech=20 Sent: Saturday, November 09, 2002 10:54 AM Subject: Re: Educating Managers Ron Nossaman wrote: > This sort of thing comes up fairly regularly, and someone always = presents > it as an opportunity to rise above the challenge. Whatever character deficiencies you may or may not have, I dont see = this as one of them. I wholeheartedly aggree, both with the standpoint and the way = it was presented. Cheers!
