Dampers/Chickering Quarter Grand/Paul Chick

Hi Joe,
               In the field, I heat a utility knife blade to stroke the bi 
and tri cord wedges. Works for me.
Another little trick. Holding the damper head in both hands, and pushing 
the bottom of the wedge with both thumbs firmly will often move the felt 
over a tad. Same technique for misaligned wedges,  but push one wedge to 
the left, and the other to the right.  Dang! easy to show but harder to 
explain!! Felt that has started to cup, can be manipulated by pinching  the 
felt between finger and thumb, the tips usually have to be trimmed afterwards.
