No not delignit or any of the other high density many-multi layered thingees.
I don't like the way they work or feel. Others do and that is fine, just not
among my first choices. :-)

I use either the 5 ply blocks, or the standard block blanks from Schaff (and
yes I know that is not considered top-o-the-line, by some, but they work well
and are consistent.)
I have tried numerous different blocks, i.e., delignit, falconwood, etc. and
just have never been satisfied with the results...probably my technique or
something.

As for hole sizes....... it depends on thickness of block, block laminations
and length of tuning pins to be used...with the shorter pins getting the
smaller holes.

The only place I ever put my name on a piano is on a new pinblock, under
the treble plate web, and I always put the month and year along with my
name....I like to think about some tech down the road pulling the plate and
finding out who put the block in and when it was done.........I really enjoy
finding names/dates in hidden places in the process of rebuilding...gives me
a kind of connection with those long gone techs. :-)
