Hi Don,
           If you apply too much heat to wet wool it sure shrinks, and you
will end up with loose centre pins. Leting the bushing dry naturally
reduces the amount of shrinkage.
Think of a woolen sweater, most people when they wash it, will lay it out
on a towel and let dry.
Put it in a drier and it is garanteed to fit a miget.
