Hi David,
              I go along with Jim.B's choice of hammers.
I now use nothing other that Yamaha damper felt, it is far more accurately
cut, than S & S,
it has right blend of firmness and resilience for my taste.
Makes the tri-cords a lot easier.
The Laureaux is softer and tends to bunch up after a few years, also the V
is longer, some times giving clearance and sizzle problems, with tri and
bi-cords. Very fast shut down when new.
