Hi, John, Most of these casters that I have put on are in private homes. The main situation is that the folks have put in hardwood and they don't want the old metal casters rolling over their floors. I have put a few sets on pianos in rec areas of seniors' homes and several community centers. Many of these were done at least 5 years ago. So far, no complaints. What type of moving do you think they're doing with these pianos? If it's from one end of the school to the other, that can be a long haul and can cover a lot of different "terrain". Perhaps the stresses of student maneuvering and going over sills, various types of mats, etc., take their toll on the casters. But... my experience, and my impression, is that these wheels are pretty substantial, so I am quite surprised that they are failing! Could this be a "bad batch"? Sorry for nothing definitive!
