Karin,

FWIW Here are Renner's specs for action components. To achieve these, as I
said, season the parts in high humidity for a while and then use the
excellent method shown on the front of Steve Brady's book available through
the PTG (advertised in the Journal)

He uses a spring gauge to measure the various flanges etc

I don't think there's a manufacturer anywhere getting action centres spot
on...for decent pianos it's well worth the effort to get them right...even
more so in your case.

If you don't already have them...invest in a good set of sized burnishing
needles and a reamer. The spring gauge is quite expensive here (I have no
idea how expensive it is in the US), but worth it if you do this sort of
work regularly.

Uprights
Damper flange 5-8 gms
Jack flange 2 gms +/- 1 gm
Wippen flange 2-5 gms
Butt flange 2-5 gms

Grands
Wippen lever Flange 2+/- 1 gm
damper flange 2-4 gms
damper block 2-4 gms
repetition lever flange 5 +/- 2 gms
Hammer shank flange 3+/- 1 gm
Jack flange 3+/- 1 gm
