Update on Wurlitzer breaking bass strings

John, 
That is exactly why I choose to use CA glue before tapping in the pins,
even on old uprights.
Some times tapping in the pins results in not being able to get the tuning
lever tip on as the strings of the same unison are now in the way.  O:(
