Pitch raises

Dear List,

Most people in the PTG whom I know of in Phoenix and myself charge
extra for a pitch raise.

The simple fact is that it takes time and time is money, so the
customer is to be expected to reciprocate. I can't do a pitch raise less
than 40 minutes, maybe I am too slow, it takes about the same as a tuning.

Of course, if we are too unfair the customer will go elsewhere, but
I have never lost a customer charging $20 extra for my time. On the
otherhand, some people don't hire me when I tell them over the phone that
their piano needs a PR. Those who care about their piano will spend what
it needs.
