Hi Bill, This is how I treat pitch raises. I write and publish my own brochures on piano maintenance and tech topics with one being just on pitch raising. This brochure states: changing pitch between 10 and 20 c tune again in 2 months. changing pitch between 20 and 25c tune again in 1 month. Anything over 25c tune in 2 weeks and then 3 months.. A normal tuning to me is change of 10c or less. I charge the same amount whether a pitch raise or not as it takes the same amount of time ( 1 hour). I charge $75 for new clients. . Because I have everything written in my brochure my story stays the same. The client makes the choice of whether to raise to A-440 or not. I NEVER charge more for tuning, I just bunch them up for tuning James Grebe from St. Louis RPT pianoman@inlink.com Home of Handsome Hardwood Caster Cups and Practical Piano Peripherals -----Original Message----- From: BSimon1234@AOL.COM <BSimon1234@AOL.COM> To: pianotech@ptg.org <pianotech@ptg.org> Date: Tuesday, November 24, 1998 2:08 PM Subject: PTG standards for pitch raises.
