If you check it out, you'll find that the term "vellum" refers to any one of several leathers--kidskin, calkskin, sheepskin, etc-- specially treated for use in the bookbinding industry. Therefore it's possible that a local bookbinder, or rebinder might be a source of such material, assuming that your favorite suypply-house doesn't carry it. This, of course, is quite possible since the first "squares" built here in the USA, pre-date our BEING the USA! Talk about perspec- tive! Les Smith lessmith@buffnet.net
