Business Pitfalls (was:Salespeople vs. Technicians)

One pitfall I would like to point out to those just
starting out in their rebuilding career is barter work.
If you get your portion done first, suddenly their preceived
notion of 'working for free' causes them to postpone your
job because they are caught in the cycle of having to 'make money'.
So you are stuck on the back burner until they have free time.
They have every intention of doing the work, . . . when they can.
Unfortunately, if you do the work first, their time becomes
eminently more valuable all of a sudden.
Even if your trades coinside you may get the feeling of inequity,
but don't want to embarass them by saying, "Your done"?!

I would avoid this unless you want to do someone a Huge favor.

DAMHIK,
