Hi Bob, ---------- From: Bob Simmons[SMTP:bsimmons@wiley.csusb.edu] Sent: Friday, September 15, 1995 3:09 AM To: Multiple recipients of list Subject: hammer butt springs This may be "old-hat" to most of you, but (believe it or not) I've never had occassion to replace a set of hammer butt springs. I have that = occasion now, and would sure appreciate any pointers you might offer on gettin' those little wire thingees into that there stick thing (or do they grow that way?). Seriously, please, any tricks I need to know? No this isn't exactly "old hat", but I have done it a couple of times. = Take the rail off, peel the felt off and you will see that the springs = are threaded through the spring rail and then back through. You can do = this. Just remove the old spring with the pliers of your choice and = thread the new spring in and back through the rail and clip off the = excess.
