Yes, yes, yes. I've used it by the quart/gallon. For years even
 Contrary to other opinions expressed here (ain't it great), using fresh in date Franklins cold Liquid hide is a very good glue for a variety of applications. It is great stuff for gluing on hammers, allowing plenty of time to get them straight without being in a mad hurry like most calif. drivers.  Felt work etc but why not Hot glue for that? The answer is convenience. cold hide is  ready to go. Sometime the time to heathide glue up isn't' possible in the home.
    Using a variety of glues, like so many things we do, is a result driven process, based on a learning curve, which we are all on.
   I've glued in many soundboard to the rims with cold hide and none has ever popped out. My friend David Hughes also uses this glue for this purpose. We warm it in hot water to make it flow better if needed.Though it has some plasticizers to keep it in suspension, it will over time harden to the point of being brittle as with hot hide glue. 
The important thing is that its in date. The reason I got away from it was because Orchard stopped carrying it after I pointed  out that all their stock was out of date. 
  The thing I am observing about the Franklins Tight bond 50 is it has that same type hardness as hot hide does when really dry so tiny bridge bits don't gum up when boring bridge pin holes. If I place beads of the dried TB 50 on my anvil and smash it with a hammer, it is a crunch experience like dried hide glue, not a smuush as with some others. 
   I would not glue on bridge caps with Cold hide or many glues know to be quite thermoplastic. Its a real bummer stopping to clean your bits. AMHIK

Has anyone tried the Titebond liquid hide glue? I haven't used it for
hammers, but works well with felt.  It'a bit too runny.
