All, Since I'm on the Institute Team I've not been involved in the CAUT Curriculum as before. But I do have a strong opinion, which I'm sure some won't like. Here it is; JUST DO IT! Fred, Eric, I have total faith and confidence in you and will support you however I can. I'd rather end talk such as "Will this really be good?" "Who?" "What?" "Why?" "But, what if...?" Let's first get something out there, then let's talk. My fear is that too much negativism, or even too much discussion about details will inhibit the forward progress. I don't think any of us is under the impression that we have come up with an ideal solution. What we hope we have come up with is something that can be made palatable to PTG (pass council), and that will move us in the right direction (toward a higher degree of professionalism throughout academia among other things). Qualifications of instructors would be vetted by both the caut committee and the board under the proposal. Regards, Fred Sturm University of New Mexico fssturm at unm.edu
