Hello all,

I believe that some of you could be interested to know how the grand
pianos are treated in the PARIS National music school.

Hammers are changed mostly every 5 years, as treble strings. bass
strings set when needed new tuning pins.
Keyboards bushings 3 to 5 years

Major 3 days work every year, sometime every 6 months a full day or
more.

These are mostly grinds (150) 10 tunings /year. They play 10 hours day
(and hard !)

And yet, most used pianos are due to new whippen/strings/hammer after
15 years and are sold to buy new ones then.
The house is HVAC controlled - was said it was working fine (in our
soft climate)

I'll receive a description of the refurbishing work to be done if some
are interested.

But still I believe the technicians work a tad slow when selling their
work to the government here !

Best regards.

Isaac OLEG
