Most, if not all Vienense action pianos had leather on the hammers. That's
what gives them a special sound. Of course, the leather on the hammers of
your piano migth not necessarily be original, it could have been changed in
the past. But Viennese hammers are supposed to be covered with leather, as
far as I know.
Anyway, if the felt part of the hammer isn't damaged, you could just replace
the leather.

Do you know a source for reproduction Vienense hammers? You mentioned
Renner - is there a website with information about these hammers?
