Yamaha problem

We had the same problem, here. In tour case, the screw that supposedly
stabilizes the action rail was bent and the rail, itself, was bent. According
to Yamaha, that's because the piano was dropped (on its bottom). There's no
support *beneath* the stack, so there's a tendency for this to happen. On the
back of one of the recent Journals, there's a "tech tip" from Yamaha that
explains the problem (and a solution?).

I noticed, yesterday, while tuning a new U1, that there's a different
configuration at that strut. It looks like the stack is now sort of retained
by a horn-like protrusion in the plate.

You should contact the dealer, if the rail looks bent. It should be covered
under the warranty. At the very least, the dealer should have caught the
problem when the piano was prepped.
