Ed Foote RPT http://www.piano-tuners.org/edfoote/well_tempered_piano.html -----Original Message----- From: Dale Erwin >> The measurements don't need to be microscopically accurate to tell you what to do of course. ie 6.1-6.3. Dosen't matter that much at thsi stage of analysis. Just put on a 17mm shank and hammer, pull out a capstan and use a capstan boat and move it around till an action ratio closer to your choice comes into view. Dale Greetings, I think this would be a good time to hear from those that can distinguish between actions with identical ratios, but different knuckle distances, (which, of course, infers that the capstan placement is different.) Is there a difference between an action with a low key ratio on a 16 mm knuckle distance and one that has a higher key ratio on a 17 mm knuckle distance? regards,
