Hi Les,
I used to serviced a few Bosendofor imperial grands, and have to say
1. For the bass strings especially the single very ones, we order directly
from Bosendofor. Don't know how special but its 'original parts'.
2. Yes I broke a few very low bass strings A0  and below and now iam very
careful about tuning these low notes. The other ranges seems fine.
