Hi Joe,

Yes, it seemed like an attack. You wrote:

don't understand it. Either that, or I'm just not with the "program".
What??!! Totally stupid.
Joe"

Referring to our leadership as a royal pain for including something that
cost pennies? Going on to call the idea and by extension those who
thought it up "totally stupid?" Yeah, I'd call that an attack.

The middle part I get - and that's not a dig. We all have different senses
of humor an appropriateness. Not understanding the need or desire for
something is completely fine. But categorically criticizing that which we
do not understand is just thoughtless. As Mark mentioned, the inclusion of
this silliness just may get some folks (who DO like to be a bit silly) to
participate in the convention. I'd say it's worth it. Belt tightening -
whatever. The cost is totally insignificant and about as fiscally
responsible as we can be short of doing nothing. I'd rather see the us do
something (yes, even silly) to promote convention. It just might create a
little interest in the (lighter side of) PTG.

Personally, I'm with Barb. ;-] I thought it was a little weird. But I
know I'm a little weird to a lot of people, too. What was that book about
tuning hammer technique? Different Strokes..........................
