Oh that's interesting Jurgen, thanks. Let's settle for them being 
Rosewood then!  Still nobody has a name for this piano part! Is there a 
name in German? How would it translate in English if so?  Accordinmg to 
Allen Wright, Steinway just called them "duplexes".  Other makes must 
call them something, when they are ordering them in the factory!
