Your right, Amsoil is the best synthetic.  I sold it back in 1978 at Hang town back in my mechanic days.

I just changed the oil and tranny fluid in my '01 Yukon today - 290k. 
I have run Amsoil since I bought the vehicle at 34k. Worth the xtra $$ I say.

Still has some original parts in it too.
