I am very right eye dominant. If I have full strength contacts in both eyes I can't read a thing. So I have a weaker prescription for the left eye contact than what is called for. This enables me to read things without reading glasses in a pinch and see things that are close a lot easier. I do use reading glasses quite a bit, but I'm not stuck if I don't have them. My left eye is near sighted a bit, but my right eye is far sighted. Throw in some astigmatism and I have the trifecta. Although, it makes it easy to see close or far depending on which eye I close, however, the depth perception goes out the window when I do that... :-) Regards, Rob McCall McCall Piano Service, LLC www.mccallpiano.com Murrieta, CA 951-698-1875 On Dec 28, 2012, at 10:44 , Susan Kline <skline at peak.org> wrote: The "glasses off" mode is my trifocal for really close stuff, and I do NOT intend to deal with multiple pairs of glasses in my purse. LOL. That is a really good decision, Ron. I spent the first half of my life near-sighted till I got far-sighted in middle age. If I were still nearsighted and had the choice, I'd attempt to keep some of it, because close work is so much easier without wearing glasses at all, and I do so much close work. I must admit that looking at distant landscapes and seeing crisp edges and beautiful colors after half a lifetime of squinting and blur is a good consolation prize for needing multiple reading glasses. Good luck with your cataract surgery. They are so good at it these days. Susan No virus found in this message.
