A kitchen cabinet manufacturer wanted a 1/3 pound of #15 wire to use as a guide for their counter tops. I even delivered it to their plant, when I was in the area anyway. No big deal.

Gee whizz Tom, nice guy. Analternative direction would be to help the person out and give (orsell) them whatever wire they need. I've done this many times - forwindshields, cleaning carburetors, a loom, etc., etc. It can be kindafun - you get to meet someone doing something different than what youdo - and hey, maybe they have a piano - or know someone that does - ormaybe they'll tell someone about their experience with you and theytell someone who has a piano - or whatever. Sometimes it's just kindanice to be nice.

How could meeting someone new, smiling, doing a good deed andjust being an all 'round nice guy be a waste of time?

Marshall,

Give her the # of one of thoseresellers . This kind of thing is a waste of time. I used to getrequests for wire used in cheese slicers or piano wire for the removalof car windshields. You have to meet them ( if they show ) and you havebetter things to do.

Hi Everyone,
I received an interesting e-mailtoday. To me it's a strange request. This person wants to know if Ihave any piano wired that she can use to make jewelry, a pin to beexact. Is this a prank or is piano wire used for jewelry? If it is, Ican sell her a batch. What gauge would she need if in fact this issomething I have. I'd give it to her I guess, but this stuff wil costme if I have to buy a particular gauge again. What would I sell it forif I did sel lher some? /Thanks
