Thanks, David. I just sent a detailed e-mail to the home office asking that
it be forwarded to the proper persons. I also just discovered that I am not
receiving any posts from the Higher Logic site, although I have been getting
messages from that and Pianotech Listserv delivered automatically into my
e-mail box for a very long time. Something's not right, and I think some
unknown hands are stirring the broth.

Will

Thanks, Al. Your response is appreciated and useful.

My guess is that this message was auto generated without the intervention of
a human being, and that this was an auto-disconnect. As indicated, my
Pianotech e-mail goes to my business e-mail, which is bundled with my phone.
This service goes down on occasion, usually for an hour or two, but
sometimes as long as half a day. Is this what generated the disconnect? I
don't know, but it seems that if all it takes is 5 messages that could not
be delivered in a short period of time (I got e-mail after 10 eastern time
last night, and then again at 5 this morning, at which time I got the
message), then that is a bit of a hair trigger for the BIG Boot. I cannot
fathom what is served at the List management end by doing things this way.

Lyris ListManager lyris-noreply at egroups.ptg.org is where the message came
from. Interesting that no-reply is part of the message sender's address.
I will copy this post and cc. it to lyris at egroups.ptg.org which is where I
sent my "unhold" command and see if a human being responds. I'm not holding
my breath.

Will, you got through to the list. I don't have an answer, but I'm surprised
you haven't received any responses yet.

To those on the list:

I just got this message this morning, along with 6 messages from Pianotech
that came in overnight. Yesterday was a light day for Pianotech, but I did
get Pianotech messages. I have never recieved the message shown below until
this morning. A couple of years ago, I got bounced off Pianotech and was
never able to get back on until I changed my email address for Pianotech to
my work e-mail. That was a period of over 9 months. Terry Farrell had a
similar problem of e-mail "shunning" until recently.

This email message is to notify you that your membership to
ptg_pianotechhtrt has been put on "hold".

This means that you will not receive mail from 'ptg_pianotechhtrt'.

Your subscription has been held because at least 5 recent messages have been
either bounced by your email system, or could not be delivered at all.

Your membership can be restored to "normal", by sending the command "unhold"
to lyris at egroups.ptg.org

Note that if your email address continues to reject mail your subscription
will once again be "held".

You may want to contact the people responsible for your electronic mail to
determine why your email address has been having trouble.

I do have some concerns that this may be a fake message that will create
problems since I responded to it. If anyone knows about any of this stuff,
I would appreciate a response, even privately, as I don't know what will or
will not get through. Thanks.
