Hi, Terry Good for you! I admire geologists! In my part of the world, "socialist" is not a dirty word, and most of PBS seems right of center. Instead of telling facts as they are, most news programs even on PBS tie themselves into bow knots trying to pretend that the two sides of ANY story are equally valid. Noting how many global-warming-related natural disasters are affecting "red" states, one feels like asking "how is that rabid denial thing working for you?" It made great politics, didn't it? Pretending science is all a myth promulgated by "liberals" does appeal to lots of the uneducated, and it appeals to the powers that be who don't want to slow down the profit train no matter the ecological consequences. A perfect way to get low income people to vote against their best interests to pander to the 1%. I'm a good person -- I'll add OT to the subject line.
