Thanks Michael, interesting stuff. What I don't understand is why he 
wants the plate lighter. High mass is a desirable component unless you 
want the plate sucking energy from the soundboard - unless infinite 
stiffness is obtainable. Yea, it's four feet thick, but man is it light 
and stiff!!!
