Attached are some photos of a Decker c1884 7'piano. Does anyone know anything about the construction of these pianos at this time? It appears that similar in construction to the premodern Steinways in that the open pinblock is a massive beam that's mortised into the case with the plate terminating up against it. The piano is for sale, price undetermined, in case anyone is interested. It's not in my immediate vicinity (60 miles from SF) so I have not seen it in person.
