Tom, 
Because we are mostly dealing with Polyester Finishes and this stuff, I've
used Denatured Alcohol or "Goof Off". Don't use the GO on any lacqered
surfaces. DAMHIK! Rip the main part off and then get the "Guck" off with
that stuff. I suppose Lacquer Thinner would work too.
