Indeed, you cannot write off that income as a bad debt, unless you've already included that income on an IRS document.. see IRS web link: http://www.irs.gov/publications/p535/ch10.html I'd still try one more time (phone call + USMail Invoice) to see if you can get them to send the money to you.
