[pianotech] Action Cradle Loose Legs?

Paul,
The only problem is that the leg(s) will still wobble! The same as trying to pull two pieces of wood together with a screw and both holes are the same size.<G> Can't be done w/o stripping or breaking something in the process.
Regards,
Joe

Couldn't one also drill/tap a hole thru to the other side of the clamp/leg block? If you run the same size tap thru the existing setscrew threaded hole and into the other side, the threading should be consistent to allow a single machine screw to go all the way through, too. Of course you'd have to drill through the conduit to the OD of the screw. Or drill out the threaded hole, continue through the leg and through the other side and put bolt/machine screw with a locking acorn nut.

Patrick,
Yeah, I did the same thing with the wood plug. Too soft to be effective.<G>
I think, on one of my older ones, (I have three cradles), I put some steel
in there, with epoxy. As I recall it's the one I got from APSCO and it was
constantly coming apart and honkin' me off, so I gave it the forever
treatment!<G> As I recall the local Ace Hardware has all kinds of Steel Rod
stock, in short lengths. As the price of brass is in the stratosphere, I'd
recommend the steel.
